Inexpensive But Good Hotels in Paris

Looking for a Cheap Place to Stay in Paris?
Paris may be one of the most visited cities in the world, but it doesn’t have to drain your wallet when it comes to accommodation. The Traveling Professor has explored the city extensively and found budget-friendly hotels that offer charm, comfort, and prime locations without the hefty price tag. Here are the top picks for the best cheap hotels in Paris.

1. Hôtel de Nesle – Funky, Artistic, and Affordable

Located in the 5th arrondissement near the Seine, Hôtel de Nesle offers one-of-a-kind rooms, each uniquely themed with bold colors, vintage posters, and wall murals. It even has its own garden. Book by phone only.
Address: 7, rue de Nesle – Website
Rates: €85–€120 per night

2. Hôtel Chopin – Old-World Parisian Charm

Nestled inside a pedestrian arcade in the 9th arrondissement, Hôtel Chopin is surrounded by antique shops and boutiques. Bright, airy rooms overlook Paris rooftops, and its Old World décor makes it a favorite 2-star stay.  Although we have not stayed here on our Paris small group tours, we have stayed here on personal trips to Paris.
Address: 46, passage Jouffroy – Website

3. Hôtel du College de France – Simple, Clean, and Quiet

This Latin Quarter budget hotel is basic yet comfortable. Guests praise its cleanliness, friendly service, and unbeatable location. An excellent cheap hotel in Paris.
Address: 7, rue Thénard – Website

4. Grand Hôtel des Balcons – A Hidden 2-Star Gem

In the stylish 6th arrondissement, this former 19th-century townhouse offers comfortable rooms and great access to public transportation. A regular choice for The Traveling Professor’s tours.
Address: 3, rue Casimir Delavigne – Website

5. Hôtel Saint Pierre – Budget-Friendly in the 6th

Clean, comfortable, and well-located, this frugal traveler’s haven is just steps from attractions. Ask for room #5 and say hello to Mhamed at the front desk.  Years ago, when we ran our first small group tours to Paris, we stayed at this very inexpensive but well-located hotel.

Address: 4, rue de l'École de Médecine – Website

6. Hôtel Emile – Chic Stay in the Marais

With stylish décor and a prime location near St. Paul métro, Hôtel Emile offers great value for its fashionable vibe.
Address: 2, Rue Mahler, 4th arrondissementWebsite

7. New Orient Hôtel – A/C and Excellent Reviews

Close to St. Lazare train station, this cozy 2-star property has glowing feedback from past guests and reasonable rates under €150 per night.
Address: 16, rue de Constantinople – Website

8. Hôtel St. Jacques – Historic and Affordable

A 3-star hotel with cinematic charm, located in the Latin Quarter near the Panthéon. The movie Charade was filmed here. Recently renovated but still budget-friendly.
