Discover the Best 4-Star Hotels on Our Small Group Tour to Austria’s Christmas Markets

On any of our tours, selecting a hotel is of prime importance.  If you’re dreaming of visiting Austria’s magical Christmas Markets, finding the right place to stay is just as important as soaking in the festive spirit. On our recent small group tour to the Christmas Markets of Austria, we stayed in three wonderful cities—Vienna, Salzburg, and Innsbruck—each offering unique charm and comfort. All of our hotel choices were 4-star properties, carefully selected to enhance our holiday experience. Here’s The Traveling Professor’s detailed review of these standout hotels.

Hotel AM Konzerthaus Vienna: Central Comfort Near 40 Christmas Markets

Vienna boasts around 40 Christmas Markets, making it essential to pick a centrally located hotel with excellent transport links. The 4-star Hotel AM Konzerthaus fits this perfectly. Unlike the smaller, family-run hotels we typically recommend, this hotel offers a modern, welcoming atmosphere with spacious, comfortable rooms. Guests will especially appreciate the delicious breakfast and friendly staff service. It’s an ideal base to explore Vienna’s festive markets and iconic sights.

Hotel Elefant Salzburg: Old-World Charm in the Heart of the Christmas City

Salzburg, often hailed as Austria’s most picturesque and “Christmasy” city, called for a cozy, smaller hotel nestled in the middle of its enchanting Old Town. The Hotel Elefant, a well-maintained historic property, was perfect for our three-night stay. Although the hotel does not have a large lobby to gather in, the breakfast room and attentive service made up for it. Staying here truly amplified the magical holiday spirit of Salzburg’s Christmas Markets.  Anytime on any of our Austria tours, we stay at the Hotel Elefant.

Hotel Innsbruck: Tyrolean Hospitality and Warmth

Our first experience at this centrally located Innsbruck hotel was unforgettable. This surprisingly large 4-star hotel captures Tyrolean hospitality at its best, with owners on-site and ready to welcome guests. The rooms offer an inviting warmth and stylish décor that perfectly complements the festive atmosphere. Breakfast here was the highlight of our Austrian Christmas Market tour. Plus, don’t forget your bathing suit—the heated pool is a delightful way to unwind after a day of market exploring!
