5 Restaurants to Try in Split Croatia

Prior to boarding our Traveling Professor small ship Croatia cruise, we enjoy spending two nights in the beautiful coastal city of Split, Croatia. This historic city offers much more than stunning architecture and scenic views—it’s also a fantastic destination for food lovers. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, traditional Dalmatian dishes, or modern Mediterranean cuisine, Split has plenty of good moderately priced dining options to suit every palate.

If you’re planning a visit or joining one of our cruises that include a stop in Split, here are 5 moderately priced restaurants where you can enjoy delicious meals without overspending.

1. Bokeria Kitchen & Wine Bar

Located within the ancient walls of Diocletian’s Palace, Bokeria Kitchen & Wine Bar serves creative Mediterranean dishes with a modern twist. Their menu features fresh seafood, steak tartare, and a great selection of local wines, making it a perfect spot for a memorable dinner. Prices here are reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and ambiance.  We almost always stop here when touring Split

2. Konoba Fetivi

For an authentic Dalmatian experience, Konoba Fetivi is a top choice. This traditional tavern is known for its fresh seafood, including grilled fish and black risotto, and hearty local specialties. It’s a cozy, welcoming spot that combines great food with moderate prices.

3. Basta Gourmet Bar

Situated along Split’s vibrant Riva promenade, Basta Gourmet Bar is famous for its wood-fired pizzas and fresh seafood dishes. The stylish atmosphere and friendly service complement their diverse menu, which offers dishes like seafood risotto and a variety of pizzas at fair prices.

4. Dvor

Perched on a cliff with breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea, Dvor is perfect for a relaxing meal. Offering a mix of Croatian and Mediterranean cuisine, this restaurant specializes in fresh seafood platters and grilled meats. Dvor balances great food and a stunning setting with prices that won’t break your budget.

5. Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar

Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar is a chic, intimate spot ideal for wine lovers and foodies alike. With a curated selection of Croatian wines paired with gourmet small plates, it’s a great place to unwind and sample local flavors without spending too much.
